What Have You Already Forgotten About God? 10-04-26

Dr. Tim Steele

In “What Have You Already Forgotten About God?” from Mark 8:1–21, we see the disciples face another impossible situation even after witnessing Jesus provide before. Their struggle was not simply that they forgot the miracles; they remembered what happened but failed to let God’s past faithfulness shape their present faith. Through the feeding of the 4,000, the Pharisees’ demand for another sign, and the disciples’ anxiety over having only one loaf of bread, Jesus challenges us to remember His compassion, provision, power, and faithfulness. When the next crisis comes, instead of beginning with, “What am I going to do?” we can begin with, “What has God already done?” Faith grows when we remember what God has already done; fear grows when we forget.
