When the Word Goes In One Ear and Out the Other.

Dr. Tim Steele

In Mark 4:1–20, Jesus teaches the Parable of the Sower to show that the Word of God is powerful, but people respond to it differently depending on the condition of their hearts. Some hearts are hard and reject the Word, some are shallow and fall away when trouble comes, some are crowded by the worries and desires of the world, and some receive the Word with humility and bear lasting fruit. This message challenges us not merely to hear God’s Word, but to truly listen, receive it, obey it, and ask God to make our hearts good soil so His truth can produce real spiritual fruit in our lives.
