Welcome to First Baptist Church!

Thinking of planning a visit? We want to connect with you!

Sunday Mornings

Worship starts at 9am on Sundays. You can join us in-person at the church, or you can watch us on-line by clicking HERE at 9am on Sundays.

As part of our Sunday service, we worship through music and songs. We lean toward contemporary music, with a mix of modernized hymns. Our Praise Team music includes bass and rhythm guitars, the piano, and the drums.

What to Expect

Sunday mornings are a great time of worship. We offer two Bible Study classes after our service, starting at 10:45am. Our “ladies only” Sunday study is led by Vicki Stevenson and the other study is led by Brother Justin Mosher.

These classes will strengthen your walk with Christ through great Bible teaching and Christian community.

On Sundays our parking lot is directed by security staff to ensure that spaces are utilized to their fullest. Please follow their directions and park where they indicate. If you have mobility needs, please let one of them know as you pull in and someone will drive you from your car to the front door via our golf cart.

You will be greeted upon arrival by members of our In-Touch ministry. These volunteers want to welcome you and ensure that your visit is memorable. They will assist you in getting a name tag, show you around, and answer any questions you might have.

Before and after the service, please feel free to get a cup of coffee and a treat at our Holy Grounds coffee stand. This is an excellent time to talk with other attendees, make connections, and expand your fellowship.

When entering the sanctuary, be sure to grab the Listening Guide for the sermon. The Listening Guide will help you as you follow along with the sermon, and will provide you with useful Bible quotes and information for future reference.

Seating is open, unless otherwise marked (i.e. “Reserved for Usher”). Please feel free to sit wherever you are most comfortable. In the chair in front of you, you will find Welcome Cards, Prayer Cards, a pen for taking notes, and a Bible.

We want you to feel comfortable just as you are. When you attend First Baptist Mesquite, you will see people wearing everything from suits with ties, or dresses, to jeans & t-shirts. As long as your clothes are appropriate for the general public, they’ll be appropriate for our services.

We do not hold Communion or Baptisms on any specific Sunday. They are held throughout the year as the Spirit moves people toward Baptism and the Pastors toward Communion. Guests are not required to participate in either.

We do not pass a basket during our services, but have offering boxes at the rear of the sanctuary just before you exit. As a guest, you are not expected to contribute to the offering; should God so move you, your contribution will be appreciated and welcomed.

We offer child care and children’s worship in our child care room near the front of the building.

Our teens join our Sunday service and we offer a Youth Bible Study after the service.

We ask that you complete one of the Welcome Cards located in the seat pocket in front of you and give the completed form to one of our volunteers holding a basket after you exit the sanctuary.

If you provide us with your contact information, you may hear from one of our In-Touch volunteers to answer any questions you may have.
